There are certainly no absolutes in this world. However if I were to pick
the most likely reason there have been no major wars between the nuclear
countries since WWII I would have to say it's because they are nuclear.

If you want to argue that some dictator might not be as sane, Ok I yeild
that point but I think nukes force sanity to some degree as well. Look at
Pakistan.
