There's enough evidence to make the claim plausible.

You still don't get it.  I couldn't care less if he had an affair or not 
as long as it didn't effect his performance as prez.  It's the right wing 
conservatives that get their knickers tied up in knots when hints of anything
sexual leaks out.  They do get silent when one of their own ends up in such a 
scandal.  Then again, it could be because the Dems scandals are heterosexual 
and theirs aren't.
