I think the idea here is to have some overall storyline, and then our ships=
 (presumably
operating under the rules of our own versions of the Trek universe) would t= ake part
in it, with the story we write describing our part of the overall
storyline= .  The problem
is that I don't have a ship in the period between the first and second movi= es. The
Alexandria doesn't really get going until late in the movie string, perhaps=
 between
Trek IV and Trek VI (Trek V doesn't exist in Steve-Trek). That wouldn't be=
 a problem
with a good story idea, however, as I would either do something with the Al= exandria
timeline or use another ship.

Alternatively, it could be a plot idea that we would develop into a story,
= giving it our
own interpretation and spin. Jay had done this already, posting a plot
ide= a he later
used in a story called "Black and White Issues." I took the same
idea, gav= e it the
Steve-Trek spin and called it "If the Cause Is Righteous." That
is an inte= resting idea,
especially if more people took the idea and saw what they could do with it.=
  Of
course, there's always the problem of finding the time to write and polish = a story.
