Good point.
One of V's groups does a charity fund raiser selling maple syrup.
Basically, they tap into trees on a particular wooded lot (it's a long
story but the lot is publicly owned but funds to maintain it are privately
raised). Here's the best part: What they are actually selling to raise
funds is commercial maple syrup ... but the people who do the fund rasing
get the syrup that comes from the trees they tap on the lot. So V buys a
litre container (which she later gives away as a present), works hard at
selling more litre containers to raise funds and then gets a half-litre or
litre (depending on sales) of the syrup that came from the wooded lot.
and get the sap from those trees.
