A cat sanctuary in Laguna Hills California, which housed 80 cats, was
destropyed by flooding during the storms Monday night. The sanctuary
was started by a woman who died 8 years ago, but who left a legacy for
her cats.
As of today, 78 of the 80 resident cats HAD BEEN RESCUED! Hope remains
that the other 2 will still be found. One of the cats, Petry, is
totally blind, and was found in 2 foot deep mud, just inches froma large
SHARP piece of glass that rescuers said sould easily have cut him in
half.
Dozens of people worked for the past 2 1/2 days to locate, rescue, AND
clean these cats. After almost 3 days in mud and debris, with no food
or clean water, they needed lots of attention.
Some of these cats will need adoption now, but some are 'too wild' and
will be put into other shelters while arrangements for a permanent home
are made.
