VH>SG>smoke and presumably some airborne lead to worry about. You'd need to
VH>SG>ventilate the area just as indoor ranges are.
VH>SG>All in all, I'd suggest finding a real air gun or better yet a real
VH>SG>indoor range.
VH>John -- I did a quick check. Graff, in Mexico, Missouri (order number
VH>1-800-531-2666) stocks CB caps, at about $1.80 per 50 (Winchester and
VH>CCI.) They also sell the Speer practice ammo -- plastic (reloadable)
VH>cases and bullets for about $4.75 for 50.
VH>If you have a .357 or .38 special, the plastic ammo would be a good
VH>choice. This is reloadable -- you fill a box with newspaper and use
VH>that for a backstop, and you can recover and re-use the bullets.
VH>The only driving force is the primer -- there is no powder. If you
VH>don't want to spring for the plastic cases, you can make your own by
VH>drilling the flash hole in standard cases a little larger (and marking
VH>the case, so you don't accidentally reload it with a full charge.)
I tried these with the .380, they work well as advertised, but they are a
bit too loud for ideal indoor practice. Earplugs are a necessity, and
they are still kind of loud upstairs unless you have a well insulated
basement...
