I always close everything that I can before checking for critical updates.
I don't want to take any chances of crash the system. Not that having more
than browser window open would cause any problems....

I have rebooted the system and turned off Zone Alarm Pro before dialing
out. It still would not download any critical updates. I think its a
security setting in IE some place. I may need to reset it to default
settings and try to download a file. Other than trying the default
settings with the fire wall turned off. I don't know what else to try...
