JS>LG> I have just moved recently and haven't unpacked my boxes of books and
JS>LG> articles, buy one of the drug books (not sure if it was the PDR)
tated
JS>LG> that Ritalin could be addicting, but they also stated that it wasn't a
JS>LG> physical addiction. Don't misunderstand, I am not against Ritalin;
I've
JS>LG> seen it make a huge difference in both children and adults, but it
JS>LG> appears that in some people there is the *possibility* of
sychological
JS>LG> addiction with long term use.
JS>I don't think that's a proper use of the term: habituation is more like

ifferent.
JS>People will often say that they are "addicted" to coffee, bagels, chewing
JS>gum, bottled water, etc. They usually mean that these things are
emotionall
JS>important to them.
That is incorrect. It is possible to become addicted to Ritalin and
many other substances, including some foods. The withdrawal from coffee
is both noticeable and unpleasant to those who are around anyone trying
to quit this drug. Also nicotene withdrawal is very hard.
These, and sugar, are legal. And just as bad for you as some of the
other drugs are.
White flour is also damaging to some systems. Turns into paste in the
intestines with very little food value at all.
