That's a long way from the truth.  It's actually the most reliable
modem I have run here.  The only major problem I have had is when
attempting to make it do adaptive answer.

What I use is...

Viper commands:
AT&F
ATS0=0
ATW2
AT%C2
ATS2=255
ATM0
AT&W

Then ATZ.
