I noticed that the flow of conversation in this echo regarding
homeschooling and firearms was centered around teaching kids how to
use guns. The very first lesson that they need to learn long before
they are old enough to begin learning how to shoot a gun is how very,
very dangerous guns are. It's interesting to observe who uses the
'they'll do it anyway so let's teach them to do it safely' philosphy
of education and on which subjects.
My dad's a long time NRA member and we had guns around the house all
the time. I was never really interested in using guns other than the
basics, so I never really learned more than how to shoot one and hit
what you're shooting at. I did learn NEVER, EVER POINT A GUN AT
SOMEBODY! It worked for us, but I thought the tape would be good for
those not already familiar with, what gun owners already know.
