Yes, too many students are afraid to present to the class - whether it be an 
oral reading, report, or speech.  They giggle and laugh for some reason - 
mostly lack of confidence in themselves (that self-image problem again!?).
 
BTW, I think you are right about your daughter and the reading you have done 
with her. Some reading list, I need to find some of those books and read 
them. (I have read some of them-I vaccum books when I read - don't put a good 
book down until its finished).
