I figured as much...
There was one pack of "2N2222" transistors, which I tested some of with a
curve tracer and found breakdown voltages as low as six volts!

Never found the latter, and if any of them were IR, I'd assume that they

I *was* experimenting with those at the time. Didn't care for tight specs,
cheap was the thing. Not a big deal to end up throwing a couple away when I
got a pack of twenty for a couple of dollars. These days I'll more likely go
for a pack of 100 from some other source.
