AH> Has anyone else experienced this warning with autopen
AH> macros. Remember you can turn off all virus protections
AH> under Tools:options.
If you work in an organization that does a lot of document exchange, I do not
recommend doing this. It will open the gate to infecting your system. The
function of the Autopen macro has effectively been killed by all the macro
viruses. We don't use it for anything.
About a year or two ago, I criticized someone in this conference for "going
on a witch hunt" when they were talking about the problem with the concept
macro. Since that time, I've gained a new respect for the problems with
so-called "prank" macros. We recently had an infection of SHOWOFXX in our
company (came from our Singapore office). Most of our staff is using Word 7.0
with the macro package installed from Microsoft (FPROT). SHOWOFXX was not
detected until it hit my system which has Word 7.0a installed.
The program VDOC found and cleaned the problem very affectively on several
systems.
