The following information was posted in one of the adoption related Internet 
mailing lists that I carry.  I have received the message's author's 
permission to repost this information into other forums!!
The author of the original message found an incredibly offensive Valentine's 
Day card yesterday, published by American Greetings.  Here is the text of the 
card:
"SIS, even if you were adopted, I'd still love you... (open the card)
... not that  you are, of course. At least I don't think  so. But, come to 
think of it, you don't really look like Mom or Dad.  Gee, maybe you should 
get a DNA test or something.  Oh well, don't worry about it.  We all love 
you, even if your real parents don't.  Happy Valentine's Day"
At the time of the original posting, the author did not have any e-mail 
contact information for American Greetings (yet) but I suggest we all write 
and tell them just how insensitive this card really IS.
This particular care is in their "Just my style" card series and the code on 
the back is: 225AV 0837-42W
NOTE: I believe Wal-Mart, K-Mart, and Target all carry the American Greetings 
card line.  It has been suggested that local stores be contacted and 
requested to remove and return the offensive cards to American Greetings.  I
