Here's my best try. 
 
You can either migrate the Laplink as an object or make up a  
special DOS window for Laplink. 
 
These Notebook Setting might be helpful: 
 
COM_DIRECT_ACCESS=ON 
COM_HOLD=ON 
COM_SELECT=COM2 
HW_ROM_TO_RAM=ON 
HW_TIMER=ON 
IDLE_SENSITIVIY=38 TO 100 (Try at 100 first) 
INT_DURING_IO=OFF 
VIDEO_RETRACE_EMULATION=ON 
 
If the above doesn't help, try something extra like 
 
DOS_DEVICE=C:\OS2\MDOS\COMDD.SYS 
 
These might work provided that your serial cable is OK.
