Archaic or not, the language of a law is all there is. Or do you mean =
that we shouldn't take laws at face value?
Besides, the fact that the perpetrators of that particular piece of =
language couldn't see beyond their own monotheistic beliefs is what = makes
it objectionable.

Give it a little credit for archaic language.... there wasn't much =
outside
the Judeo-Christian sphere when it was written. Any state organization
challenging a religious anything solely on the grounds of that =
language
would find the state judical system happily digging them a grave.
