I never thought of the leaves, branches, etc.... GOOD IDEA!!!

Those old canvas wall tents can take a lot of abuse. I think those are the
type that 1st North Bay has. I've a better (????) idea:
Why not get a tent that WILL NOT stand up because it is all banged up. Then
the Troops will have to "improvise" to get the thing up. But do not tell
them about the tent being in such poor condition. And tell them not to let
the others, who haven't had a go at the drill, to say anything, lest they
improve the other team's chances.

GC> I can as I don't want to destroy a tent by having
GC> kids that have never seen one trying to put poles
GC> where poles were never designed to be! Any
 GC> Suggestions????
I would suggest a bagpiping contest. (Tee Hee Hee)
Seriously, give me a few days to come up with something. Look in that BSA
Patrol Leader's Handbook, in my Scout library. There are lots of good ideas
in there. Maybe you can find something. In the meantime, I'll get some
input from Mr. Ellwood.

GC> The other troops can screw themselves! The judges
GC> for the judged events will be from district so it
GC> will be fair. I will be around to assit as per SOP!
Great! If District is Judging then you are not constrainted. Tent Monster
Ideas abound!!! Of course, my Troop will be drilling for this, well before
the event.

Where do you think we can hold this? If Timber Lake is to remote, we can
always use the pond area behind the Main Campus of Canadore College. Whaddya
think?

Cheers!
