OK you buy a cellular modem adapter or actually, a box with an
rj-11c jack on it from your friendly, knowledgable cellular phone
dealer.
Motorola makes one but I am told one from a firm in Philadelphia
and I forgot the name just now is much better.
To use your modem over cellular it will help a whole lot if you
have mnp-10 or enhanced mnp 10.
This is a protocol intended for noisy lines and cellular is
definitely noisy with the hand offs and such.
For optimum results, you want to connect to a system which also
has mnp 10 or such.
Some cellular service providers have a service which routes your
data call to a mnp 10 modem at the cellular company and it in
turn connects to the called site.
Advantage of this is the called landline site needs no mnp-10.
Disadvantage is you may find your data call surcharged by your
carrier for the use of their fancy modem.
... File not found, I'll load something *I* think is interesting.
