I use a round-about way of converting graphical faxes into an Autocad file.
My faxing software has an option to "SAVE AS..." and then 2 or 3 different
file types. The one that I use is a "*.EPS" file which I believe stands for
"Encapsulated PostScript" or something to that effect. Then, I either bring
up CorelTrace, which can convert bitmapped images (*.eps) into vector images,
or I use a Shareware Program called "The Graphics Factory" which can do a
*ton* of different file conversions. I sometimes don't do a trace, but
convert whatever it is I have into a *.DXF file (the CorelTrace can be saved
in this format as well).
Autocad does an o.k. job of DXFing' in. As far as the text stuff goes,
ACAD-r12 comes with a lisp routine called "ASCTEXT.LSP" that can import
standard ascii text files. I think the default directory for this program
is.."/acad/sample/". I move everything around so that's a guess. Good luck.
