Since upgrading to the V.34+ firmware I have had a lot of connect troubles.
Several of my users (even one with a 2400 modem) report problems connecting.
Simiarly, my outbound calls are much less reliable. When talking to a
Dataplex V.34 (Australian brand, non-Rockwell based) the modem 75% of the
time begins the V.34 response sequence too late, and the remote modem has
already moved on to the 2400 connect tone.
Also, despite "AT+MS=RVFC,1,300,28800" the modem will still attempt V.34.
This has been a bug for quite a while. Similarly on some occasions (not sure
with the current firmware) the modem will do MNP 5 despite %C2 being set.
Sometimes ATM1 does not enable the speaker on this firmware.
Betas 17 and 18 seem more problematic than 14, which is what I'm now using.
Also I get a lot of retrains and lost carriers that never happened before.
My Supra V.FC is still rock solid connecting to anything, including the
abovementioned Dataplex.
I will probably have to remove the V.34+ firmware.
Regards,
Hamish
