Controls for both bias and recording tape sensitivity will ususlly put
you right close to optimum with most name brand tapes.  The greatist
differences will actually be between the "true" chrome tapes vs the
"chrome equivalents", BASF chromdioxide being a "true" chrome tape and
TDK's SA an "equivelant".  Each requires a slightly different
equalization for optimum frequency response.
