subject: Attendance Database

I work at a small private post-secondary school, and would like some
advice. We have Paradox 5.0 for Windows loaded on my computer, and
would like to develop an attendance database to keep track of the
student's hours on computer instead of manually. We do already have
a database on Paradox with basic student information such as SS#,
name, address, etc., and would probably need to link these two
together, or at least use referential integrity between them. Some of the
state and federal attendance requirements are as follows:
1) Each quarter's attendance must be kept track of, and a student must
be notified when he/she misses more than 15% of the scheduled hours for
   that quarter.
2) If a student misses over 15% of the scheduled hours in two quarters
inside of one calendar year (Jan - Dec), he/she must be expelled.
3) Overall hours for the program the student is enrolled in must be
kept track of, and if a student misses over 15% of the total program
hours, he/she must be expelled. Each student's base scheduled hours is
different from anyone else, based on hours transferred in from other
   schools.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. No one around here is a
programmer, and although I am the most computer literate in the office,
I don't know anything about the PAL aspect of Paradox, so we are
attempting to set this up just through Paradox alone.
Thanks in advance for your responses.
