MP>> AP>Her name is Kim Davis... and she is a special piece of work...
MP>> AP>most Republicans here don't like her either.
MP>>
MP>> The Democrat party has abandoned many people, as the election has
MP>> shown. Again, where is her religious freedom ? Folks left England
MP>> a number of years back for similar situations.
MP>Her religious freedom is one thing, but her duty to uphold the
MP>constitution and laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky are another.
MP>She failed at the latter. The laws changed and she balked at her
MP>duty. She should have stepped down.
MP>That said, I don't believe for a minute that she was not targeted.
MP>If she'd been a private business owner who had come out and said
MP>she'd not serve homosexual couples, and they'd shown up trying to
MP>force her to, that'd be a whole different matter. That would be her
MP>right.
MP>I would guess that a couple, or couples, chose Rowan County because
MP>they knew she was there and knew she'd not sign the license. I don't
MP>like that she may have been targeted, but it was her duty to uphold
MP>the law.
Ultimately I really don't disagree with you but I do know the left is
about a war of incrementalism with their social agenda. So they will
continue to get laws changed to align with their morality, which is a
bigger concern. Laws which compel private citizens and business owners
to abandon their religious beliefs in order to remain in good graces
with the law is a challenge. Examples are the bakeries and wedding
cakes. They've become a symbolic target for the left.
