Generalizations about female genital mutillation are seldom accurate,
because there are so many different variations and combinations of
practices from region to region.

None of the involve the complete removal of the clitoris, because like the
penis, the clitoris is a structure that extends far back into the abdomen. 
Many do remove the entire visible part of it though.
