John:
My Wood Badge is in Boy Scouts. I took it at Camp Jackson, Alabama, which
is in Scottsboro. It was SR-57, and I am now working my ticket. I would like
to be awarded my beads at the 1995 Fall Camporee, but I will have my ticket
completed by this May. I really enjoyed the course. Having been absent from
Scouting since 1968, it was an excellent way to get a refresher course on all
my scouting skills. We have approximately 50 boys in our scout troop, and d
about 10 adult leaders are Wood Badge trained. We are getting ready to
leave during spring holidays for the Okeefenokee Swamp National Wildlife
Refuge in southeast Georgia. We will be canoeing and exploring all over the
swamp, and spend the night on an island in the swamp. It should be a very
fun and educational trip. I keep telling the parents of my Cub Scouts in
which I am a Den Leader (Bear), that scouting is the absolute best enrichment
program that they could ever find for their sons.
Anyway, it is nice to meet a fellow Bobwhite. A lot of the people here
that finished Wood Badge collect articles\items of their patrol (e.g. Fox,
Bears, owls, etc.). It is kind of hard to find Bobwhites ! Thanks for
replying John. I hope to hear from you again.
