Her religious freedom is one thing, but her duty to uphold the constitution
and laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky are another. She failed at the
latter. The laws changed and she balked at her duty. She should have
stepped down.
That said, I don't believe for a minute that she was not targeted. If she'd
been a private business owner who had come out and said she'd not serve
homosexual couples, and they'd shown up trying to force her to, that'd be a
whole different matter. That would be her right.
I would guess that a couple, or couples, chose Rowan County because they knew
she was there and knew she'd not sign the license. I don't like that she may
have been targeted, but it was her duty to uphold the law.
