If you started coding early, like I did with Pascal 1.0 (1,0 ),
the "." was hard-wired, and you have to sift through your code to
"globalize" number IO. Nils Olof and I had a trade - he'd get
the Euros to use ".", and I'd talk the reactionary Americans to
go metric - we're still working .
