Q811493 gave my system no problems. It was installed on the 16th of April
and my system reboots without any problems. Its performance is also
unaffected.
I've also read the new cautions and am satisfied that the problems are
associated with Windows XP SP1. I don't run XP.

I've had more trouble updating from the Windows Update page.
