Belated reply, but didn't see any other comments....
Most commercial grade CeO have an APS (avg. particle size) between 2 and 4
microns. Because of the way CeO polishes, with both a cleaving action and a
flowing action, you get a polished surface as opposed to a very fine ground
surface.
1660 = Cerox 1660, a French made (Rhodia Terres Rares) premium quality CeO,
I suspect it is white, (CeO deposits do not have the trace elements that
American (Texas?) made products have that give them the typical brownish
red color. Typical APS is in the 1 micron range. We use 1663 which is
similar, but with a suspension agent added. Good stuff!!
