A word to the wise: Microsoft doesn't actually recommend upgrading from XP to Win7 even if they have "upgrade instructions". Some vestigial programs may not be upgraded correctly and eventually, they will cause the entire OS install to become unstable, forcing a fresh full install of Windows 7. As someone who's done more Windows 7 installs than he'd like to admit, I'd really recommend backing up your data and doing a full fresh install. This means blowing the hard drive and letting Windows 7 redo the entire partition, especially with the EFI booting requirements. XP and Windows 7 are very different and I'd not mix them.
