Right.  Same here except different program.  However thinking and playing
with them in the txt2pkt.pl script, as well as the small Perl MSGID routine
written for the occasion, yeilds a slightly different perspective on it.

Probably.  I don't trust it as a dupechecker though and if no real
standardization as far as it's generation then not likely good for sorting
either.  I am not sure what it is good for myself especially since leaving
it out altogether doesn't cause any grief anywhere other then with people
who look for it and make demands for it to be there.  Seems to get by
everyone's radar, even badly formed ones in most cases.  :-/
