The filibuster has a place.  I would not eliminate it.  In fact, I always
thought the republicans should have called the democrats bluff and forced
them to engage in real filibusters - the kind that shutdown all other
senate business.

I would absolutely LOVE to see a few of the more prominent bloviators up
there reading the D.C. phone book into the record.

I would LOVE to see THAT on national TV.

I would LOVE to see that shutdown the govt if some ordinary appropriations
bill that was to pay govt employees got wedged behind the fillibuster.

THEN, the public would appreciate what is going on here.
