True the country ID has to be changed AFAIK.

Maybe not, The courier can be updated by just uploading different code
into it so a ID is needed to stop the wrong code being loaded, As the
Sportster uses an EPROM maybe no checking is done.

You might be lucky :-) Btw why not try to get the 33k6 EPROM from USR.
