Just out of curiosity, how many here have tried using the getopts() in
SNIPPETS? It combines the *nix functionality of getopts() and xargs() in a
single package. I have a newer version than the one posted to the SNIPPETS
web site which properly handles arguments separated by spaces, "--help"
style arguments and most other Posix standard argument processing. I
still have a little bit I'd like to clean up, but with a little
encouragement I could probably have it posted in a week or so.

The last time I updated it was just before I used it at Motorola, so I
know it's portable to both Win32, Solaris, and Linux. The only real
portability issue was xargs() processing, but since I was writing console
functions, bash took care of wildcard processing so only the Win32
application needed that functionality.
