Hi Donna sorry to but in here but have you checked out Kolbe Academy in
California? I just pulled my son out and am homeschooling because when we
moved to KY in Nov. 95 my son went to a local school which was highly rated
down here. First he was bored they were doing 6th grade work which he did in
4th grade up in MA. Then I started looking at the schools down here and
found that they were about 2 - 3 years behind up north but they thought that
their schools were great. Then I looked at their local college and found
that the entrance exam a 6th or 7th grade student from up north could pass
but their local students had trouble passing. Up until recently the high
school students didn't have to take algebra it was optional. Now I wasn't to
happy with the local school up north because I didn't feel that they were up
to level with what I had when I went to school. So I started investigating
homeschools last Feb. and sent for the info packs from all I could find. I
finnally settled on Kolbe because of it's program and the text books that
they use plus the cost, about $400.00 per year total.
