OK, let's try a couple of things:
First, what selection do you have for the mouse in the NewPublish
preferences? I have the "No idea" mouse selected, and it works.
Second, I have found that the GEOS video mode can have a great bearing
on how well GEOS cooperates with swapping. Straight VGA works fine.
The higher resolution settings have always caused some problems with
swapping, ranging from video corruption to a flaky mouse upon return to
GEOS. Since I like the higher resolutions, I put up with it and just
don't swap, but stay in GEOS until I am done, then exit. If I were to
use straight VGA, then it would swap just fine. One of these days, I'll
figure out the problem and what I need to do to use the higher
resolutions with swapping, and it will be OK.
It may well be that a different video card than what I have would not
have the same problem. I can't say for sure.
