Hi Jennifer,
I am older than you and started with the Arcane School (Alice Bailey)
when I was 21. Been to Sedona, Mt.Shasta, Deadwood and a few other
'spiritual vortexes'. Keys of Enoch and extension course, Urantia
Rebirthing, A Course in Miracles and lots more. I was a member of a
cult and finally grew out of it age 50. Dozens of channels also. Crystals.
It is scary stuff. The attraction/obsession to New Age stuff is a
composition of addictions. Most of the charismatic 'gurus' are sex
addicts. A lot of women are romance addicts who relate to these men.
These programmed societal dysfunctions inflict emotional wounding
upon individuals. People avoid working on issues by pursuing 'spiritual'
paths that defocus attention from the underlying fears. So it is not
just the extreme of suicide that is suffered. Parenting, jobs and
relationships and more are harmed, often resulting in physical illness.

and refused to listen to the voice of reason. I have a dear friend in a
cult and I see little hope of extracting her. I know what it is like.
Your post may help. But the people who need to listen have barriers.
For instance from my point of view the Council of Nine is no more real
Heaven's Gate, though less of an extreme. And Sedona is an addictive
environment, not spiritual. But you are not likely to acknowledge this
on my sayso and may even be annoyed. That is the reaction that will
come from your ET/walk-in Ascension, Create Your Own Reality friends
whom you are trying to warn. Perhaps not overtly because that isn't
spiritually cool; but see if your phone calls decline. Most of those "39"
were out of touch with their families. It is like seeing a child lost
to drug addiction but being lost to a cult. I hope I don't lose my friend.
Lest you get the wrong impression, you seem to me to be a quite sensible
loving person and I may have sounded more critical than I meant. I'm
glad you posted because I'm still bitter from the disillusionment and
your position is more moderate and helpful than mine may well be.
