FWIW, I now get all my FidoNet stuff via Internet connection with my hub.
About a year and a half ago, I moved to an area in which all FidoNet
presence had died out. Not willing to rack up long distance charges (even
at 7 cents per minute) for Fido mail, I arranged with my NC (with the
blessing of the RC) to stay in my old net and pick up my mail using
Internet Rex. It works for me (and him), and I stay connected to what's
left of FidoNet.
