That's part of the problem, Roy. It's desktop PC running Windows ME. It
has been upgraded from Windows 95 to Windows 98 and then to Windows ME. As
a result all three versions are on board including the CABs. That's the
space hog, I think. It also has all of Office 2000, the Fido and the
internet messagebase, too. The best thing would be to reformat and load up
XP new, but the hardware is pretty old and I very much doubt if signed
drivers are availabe for it now.
There's about half a gigabyte nominally free but Windows wants half of
that for virtual memory management.
So a C compiler for it has to about the size of MSC 7, or Zortech 3.
Andrew listed a few, and I've asked him which is smallest. I can wait till
he gets back. :-)
