Maybe then you need a lesson in English? You specifically said "the resistor
is to PREVENT the signal going back!", in reply to my statement about 
without
a terminator, the signal cannot return to the transmitter [along the earth
wire]".
You worded it as if to say the resister is there to break the circuit in some
way.
