Hi Bob,
In my wife's home based word processing business, we found the Yellow Pages
to be much too expensive for the marginal business that comes in. We found
that classified ads in college newspapers, and flyers posted around the
campus were much more cost effective. We found that for less than $50 a
month worth of flyers and classifieds, we get hundreds of dollars a month in
academic typing during the school year.
We also write resumes. A classified ad in the "Resume" classification
which is just ahead of the "Help Wanted" section in our newspaper pulls in
similar results as our academic marketing does.
We also found that the YP are great for finding new clients, though. If we
want a list of paralegals who may have transcription work for us, there is a
section in the YP, also lawyers offices.
Be seeing ya!
