 I very rarly call the IBM bbs. but from memory I recall little difficulty
 when compared to the Mail Exchange bbs. I recieved a reply quoted below
 about adding %E2, this seems to have done the trick. I've had much more
 reliable connections since implementing it.

my modem is a Simple Computing V.FC
