Carol,

I'm useing FTN::Database:Nodelist (part of the FTN::Database perl module
distribution) & it's associated ftnpldb-nodelist script to load a
nodelist into an SQL database. Then do any processing I'm interested in
doing on that database; like for generating web pages using the nodelist
information, creating reports about flag usage, things like that.
On MS Windows, I use Strawberry Perl and install the FTN::Database & other
modules from CPAN in they're not in the standard Perl distro. On Linux
(Debian/Ubuntu), I use the standard Perl installation: currently if a
module isn't already packaged I get it from CPAN, although I also plan to
package the FTN related modules.
For instance; I use it to generate a report about Zone 1 IBN/BINKD flag
usage [4]. It needs some work ; I'm getting slightly different
results on different Debian installs (stable & testing), which I think
is related to the Perl code rather than the SQL... I plan to post regular
summaries once I get
get more consistant results...
Note that FTN::Database is hosted at Sourceforge [1] and is also available
at CPAN [2], where there are other FTN related perl modules.
The SQL side of what I'm doing is not particularly complex (see also [3]);
I'm basically learning both more about Perl & more about SQL as I go
along......
