DK> Sadly, there are programs generally available that will, given a
DK> starting Web page and a message, dig through the Web looking for
DK> electronic addresses, and send the message to each one found. These
DK> are usually (ab)used to send unsolicitied advertising. In the case of
DK> NaughtyRobot, some prankster decided it would be more fun to scare
DK> than to sell. As usual, take all such mail with a big grain of salt,
DK> and see our pages on recognizing hoaxes for some good general advice.
How is it that the "makers" of the net can guarentte the safty of informtion
on the net when everyone can send messages like that? I know the message
itself is harmelss, but the effects to a novice or ignorant user could be
rather expensive. Is there no "police" surfing the net ridding our lives of
those fools that _enjoy_ such trivial pranks???
