Ron -
The MSR Whisperlight is an excellent choice. It works well in all weathers,
doesn't add a whole lot of weight to your fuel, and isn't overly greedy on
how it uses the fuel you carry. (I normally carry two MSR standard-sized
bottles of fuel for a weekend, and don't often have to get into the second
bottle at all.)
You don't have to mess with filling the tank, since the fuel bottle itself
serves as the tank. When in use, the fuel and the burner are separated by a
comfortable distance. Spare parts are readily available and easily carried.
If there has to be a drawback, the only one I can think of is that it can be
a bit diffilcut to level the system if you don't have a flat spot for it.
However, MSR has a lightweight base-frame available that takes care of this
very nicely - thus doing away with the only drawback I have encountered to
date.
