Hi Nigel!
I am still a relative newcomer around here, but intend on becoming a
"regular" on this conference as a matter of habit. One of the good
reasons for me doing that is quite simply your posts here. I've made
it a habit to save everything you release to PD...!

That, my friend, is about the highest compliment a man could give.
I wanted you to know that I have happily made MSMOUSE.QLB/LIB a
standard part of the beginnings of my new library collection. I just
started over the other week with a new (to me) complete QB 4.5 package
and am literally starting from scratch making up a new QB 4.5 library
collection to work with. Thats what makes posts like your MSMOUSE
released to Public Domain like pure gold to me.
I only had one wierd problem setting up the MSMOUSE library, and that
was the GENMSCUR.BAS. Something must have happened to it in transit,
so to speak, because it would read a tiny cursor text file and create
a 67000+ byte output file..(!) I used a LIST program I have to look it
over for clues and discoved that it output properly until the 16th
line, where the line itself was ok, but the ' comment to show the
0000000000000000 pattern turned to garbage. This was followed by
"tons" of apparent garbage data that looked like a memory dump, and
then at the end, starting with line 17, it would finish from that 17th
line on just like you had intended. Something about that 16th line
made it go totally bananas.
In the end I finally just used ' to rem out the lines that printed the
original 0000000000000000 pattern as comments, and ended up with a
working GENMSCUR that makes the cursor subs ok, minus the comments.
So I have it all working, and I appreciate this immensely! But being a
programmer I thought you'd want to know about the difficulties with
GENMSCUR.BAS. I think perhaps a mail tosser munched on it somewhere
along the line....(?)
MSMOUSE is an excellent, well documented piece of work. I thank you
very much for sharing this.
Have A Good One!
