OTOH, Vaughn was an ideal trade candidate.  He was making pretty big $$$
and looking for a lot in his next contract.  He's well past the magic 27
and has had some serious injuries.  I don't know enough about the guys
that the Brewers got in return but they wouldn't have to amount to very
much to make this a good trade for them.  I don't think the small market
theory applies in this case.
