Who was president in 1900? In 1900 there weren't many roads, the country
wasn't wired for electrical or phone service, there was no television, no
radio, no nuclear power, no solar power, no static filtering devices for
coal burning..

My point is that a goal to use current technology to reduce greenhouse
gasses by the end of the century is a bullshit goal. In 25 years we'll have
a whole new set of options to deal with the problem and in fact we may very
well have a whole new problem (like oil not being a viable power source
anymore because of dwindling supplies).
