I never knew that Merkel was East German.

We are pretty much stuck with the president. Congress can impeach
them but it is a long and drawn out process... what few of our young
people fail to realize is that congress actually impeached Hillary's
husband for Purjury (Lying under oath) but since the Senate was
aligned with the President's political party they acquitted him. It
takes both halves of the congress to Impeach the president.
Technically President Clinton was impeached by Congress.

The way that the parties are aligning now I doubt very seriously that
they will be able to impeach either side. The process is so complex
that I doubt that any modern prsident can ever be impeached.
