Excel is a program which requires more memory than most
software programs. You may re-check the system requirements for
the version of Excel you have, then be sure you have the necessary
memory for it ... RAM.
What I stated above would be the easiest to do; I'm also
positive you have already done this. I remember receiving a Stealth
Virus one time called NYB. It loaded itself into upper memory and the
virus scanners older than 2 years did not detect it at all. It did however
preventing me from printing and it locked up completely. I do not
know if F-PROT will detect this or not, depending on the version or
updated files for it. Either way, good luck tracking down problem.
